The archive of Jean-Christophe Ammann – the director of the MMK from 1988 to 2001 – is a highly valuable source of information on the museum collection. On three evenings, we will take archive material as our point of departure to explore the backgrounds behind selected works in the exhibition Museum. Among other things, we'll discuss the respective artistic strategy and how it is manifest in the documents. The works on exhibit by Marcel Broodthaers, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Fischli/Weiss, Gilbert & George and Martin Kippenberger will in turn provide us with insights into the archive and thus into museological research work.
