Friends of MMK

The society of friends, or Freunde des MMK, was founded in 1991 at the time of the opening of the MUSEUMMMKFÜR MODERNE KUNST. Its aim is to support the museum, as the many projects of the MUSEUMMMKFÜR MODERNE KUNST can be realized only with material and non-material help from private patrons. The friends would like to give the MMK the degree of flexibility necessary to fulfil its purpose as a museum of contemporary art and to react to the latest developments in the art world. The society thus supports the MMK in the realization of exhibition projects, the purchase of new works for the collection, the museum publications and the extensive museum education programme.
